I learned there was a model based on persuasive writing. You need a claim, evidence, warrant, backing, rebuttal, and qualifier. They are all needed because they rely on each other to strengthen the argument. You should avoid using words that leave question and doubt. You should avoid using those words because it will leave the audience with doubt for your argument. The main goal of persuasive writing is to convince other people that your side to an argument is the right side.

  1. Carter understood the Toulmin method very well. I agree that you should avoid using words that lead to question and doubt because it will persuade the audience to not support, or doubt, your argument.
